Case Description / Summary

Southern Pacific Towers, LLC proposes increasing the height of an existing radio tower from 60 feet to 120 feet. The tower is located on the northeast portion of the subject property. A 1,500 square-foot building is located on the southern portion of the property and contains utility connections and appurtenant facilities for nearby towers. There is a second radio and television tower located on the northwestern portion of the building’s rooftop, which has a total height of 60 feet. The subject property is screened by a 6-foot high chain-link fence, topped with barbed wire. The property is accessed from the north by a paved driveway, which connects to Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area Drive. The tower is leased to KDAY (93.5 FM), but may in the future accommodate other radio, television, or telecommunication broadcast facilities.
