Project History:
The Agua Dulce Community Standards District was established in 1985 in order to protect the secluded rural character of the community. Over the last two years, the Department of Regional Planning has worked with the Agua Dulce Town Council to revise this CSD. These proposed draft revisions were presented to the community on Thursday March 11th 2010 at the Agua Dulce Women’s Club, where attendees voted to work on revising the draft before bringing it to the Regional Planning Commission.
On Wednesday May 25th 2011 the Department of Regional Planning again presented the CSD revision at an evening meeting at the Agua Dulce Women’s Club. At this meeting a detailed ballot was provided to the approximately 70-80 attendees. The ballot sampled community opinions on individual portions of the CSD. The final vote from a total of 67 votes, was 35 votes in favor of the CSD, 8 abstains (did not circle either yes or no), and 24 no votes. The full results are available on this webpage for download along with all the written comments on the ballot.
