The Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning is proposing an amendment to Title 22 (Zoning Code) to revise requirements for Animal Facilities. The amendment will allow for the boarding and breeding of cats and dogs as a permitted use in the A-2 and M-1 zones, while requiring a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the use in the C-M zone. The amendment will make Regional Planning’s requirements consistent with the existing requirements of the Department of Animal Care and Control.
On September 30, 2015, this ordinance was presented to the Regional Planning Commission (Commission) at a public hearing. The Commission recommended the Animal Facility Ordinance for review and approval by the Board of Supervisors.
