Download Excerpt/Summary
The Cerritos Island Community Standards District (“CSDâ€) addresses residential development on undersized parcels with limited street access in the unincorporated community of Cerritos Island. The standards contained in the CSD are intended to ensure that new residential structures meet fire safety requirements and are compatible in size and scale with the characteristics of the existing residential neighborhood.
On April 21, 2010, the Regional Planning Commission held a public hearing to consider the proposed CSD, and following the public hearing on a 4-0 vote, recommended approval of the CSD. The ordinance was transmitted to the Board of Supervisors and the public hearing before the Board of Supervisors regarding this project was held on June 9, 2010. See Board of Supervisors Package for more information. The Board indicated its intent to adopt the CSD, which it did at the hearing held on July 13, 2010.
