On June 10th 2008, the Board directed the Department of Regional Planning to re-examine and report suggestions for improving ordinances pertaining to wineries and tasting rooms. The intent of this work was to eliminate some of the significant regulatory barriers facing small wine businesses, while balancing these uses with the needs of the community. On April 15, 2009, the Regional Planning Commission voted 5-0 in favor of approving the Wineries and Tasting Rooms ordinance. On March 9, 2010, the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors adopted the Wineries and Tasting Rooms Ordinance.
