Approximately 200 people who live and work in Hacienda Heights attended the Community Presentation on February 27, 2008 from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm at the Steinmetz Senior Center. Among the special guests in attendance were: Supervisor Don Knabe, along with his Planning and Field Deputies; the Director of Regional Planning, along with several members of his senior staff and multiple planners; leaders from other county agencies; local community and school leaders; and, residents from all corners of the community. The committee Chairs presented their recommendations on how to address key issues in the Plan Update to county service providers, community and elected leaders, and neighbors. The Presentation was followed by an “Open House†that provided attendees with the opportunity to interact with the committee members, planners, elected officials and local leaders and to provide comments and ask questions. These recommendations, developed over the past several months by committees of residents, will form the basis of the Draft Community Plan, which the Department of Regional Planning will write, and the entire community will review, in early 2008.
