Visioning

Since April of 2013, the County of Los Angeles has been engaged in the last part of a three-step agreement between the Board of Supervisors and the California Coastal Commission for planning efforts in Marina del Rey. The Marina del Rey visioning process is a project by the Department of Regional Planning (DRP) to develop a vision for Marina del Rey for the next 20 years. Over the last several months, DRP hosted a number of in-person community events to identify ideas and suggestions for what you’d like the Marina to be. We also set up a virtual town hall website that we used to post questions about the Marina to find out what your ideas and opinions are.

In order to create a successful vision of the future Marina, it’s important for us to know what you think about the current Marina. Tell us what you think is missing or should be improved in the Marina, what design changes can be made to make the Marina a more attractive place, what uses or amenities could be provided to make the Marina a more desirable destination for visitors and more livable for residents, and what you like about the Marina and want to see more of. We want to hear all of your ideas and perspectives.

If you are interested in this process, want to participate in the discussion, or just want to receive project updates, please click the “Contact Us” tab above.
