The Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning welcomes your feedback on the 2021-2029 Housing Element. Since the release of the preliminary draft of the Housing Element Update in June 2021, DRP has hosted a series of workshops to present the “Big Ideas” of the Housing Element, and met with members of the public to explain how the Housing Element Update impacts their communities. The draft was revised to reflect stakeholder input as well as comments provided by the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD).
The latest draft includes revisions to implementation programs and more detailed analyses of housing needs, potential barriers to housing, and information about how the County will create capacity for 90,052 additional units by 2029, as required by State law.
On September 1, 2021, the Regional Planning Commission held an online public hearing and recommended approval of the Housing Element Update to the Board of Supervisors, which will hold a public hearing on October 19, 2021. The Housing Element will be adopted by the Board of Supervisors by the end of 2021, and must be certified by HCD in early 2022. DRP will continue to meet with stakeholders and revise the draft throughout the adoption process. You can review the latest draft and public hearing information by clicking here.

Rezoning Program - Story Map New!
