Housing Element Update

Program 12: Priority of Water and Sewer for Affordable Housing

The State law requires that when allocating or planning to allocate available and future water or sewer services designated for residential use, public and private providers shall grant priority to proposed housing developments on sites identified in the Housing Element that help meet the housing needs of low and moderate income households.

Objectives Upon adoption and certification of the Housing Element, provide copies of the Housing Element, including information on sites used to meet the RHNA for the unincorporated areas, to all water and sewer districts that may be required to provide service to developments within the unincorporated areas.
Policies Policy 6.4: Maintain and improve community facilities, public housing services, and infrastructure, where necessary, to enhance the vitality of older, low income neighborhoods.

Responsible Agency Department of Regional Planning, Department of Public Works, Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County, and water service providers
